Norma's Feature
Tarot Card

The Star, #17
The Star
XVII

The Star being the 17th symbol of the Higher Arcana is an aspect of #8 - Strength. Both symbols are looking down and have both hands involved. In #8, the Lion is representing life. In #17, the Star is the self. A naked woman kneels on a pool of water, a pool which represents the subconscious, the emotional, the hidden, while one leg rests on the earth: the visible, the conscious, the aware. In her right hand she pours a larger volume of water back into the pool, while in her left hand she pours a smaller volume of water onto the land. This water breaks into five steams and of those five streams one finds its way back to the pool.

In personal growth, you will reach the stage where your own growth and awareness are paramount. You have come to learn, experience and therefore, understand many aspects of yourself. The Star represents this state. Your own beauty, knowledge and awareness shines through to others. You have become the Star - you shine in your own light. You most definitely give out - of your time, energy and emotion to the world, yet your own learning and growing continues.

Behind you are seven stars, six smaller ones and one big one, because you are aware of the connection to all things. These seven represent the seven main chakras in the body and how they need to be in alignment at all times. Also, the sacred bird, Ibis, sits on a tree watching, ensuring you are in balance and integrity. Mostly it is important that you are balanced and knowing as a leader that you are still growing, learning and moving to greater states of awareness.
